IJI.RED – TANGERANG CITY, August 19, 2026 — Marking the beginning of his leadership journey with a firm yet people-oriented approach, Deputy Chief of Metro Tangerang City Police, AKBP Fiki N. Ardiansyah, S.H., S.I.K., M.K.P., M.Si., conducted his first working visit to the Tangerang City Police Sector (Polsek Tangerang Kota) on Wednesday, August 19, 2026.
The visit was more than a formal agenda. It reflected the leadership’s commitment to being present at the frontline, directly engaging with police personnel, reviewing operational readiness, and ensuring that public service remains a central priority in every aspect of police duties.
Accompanied by members of the Public Relations Section of Metro Tangerang City Police and relevant staff, AKBP Fiki N. Ardiansyah was warmly welcomed by the Chief of Tangerang City Police Sector together with officers and personnel serving at the precinct.
The welcoming atmosphere reflected strong solidarity, mutual respect, and the readiness of personnel to build open, honest, and constructive communication with their leadership.
Directly Reviewing Frontline Public Services
Rather than relying solely on reports, AKBP Fiki N. Ardiansyah directly inspected various facilities and working areas that serve as the public’s first point of contact with the police.
The inspection included the public service area, reporting room, detention facilities, security posts, and operational rooms.
At each location, the Deputy Chief of Police engaged directly with personnel on duty. He asked about service procedures, operational challenges, obstacles in case handling, and the availability of supporting facilities and infrastructure.
The approach demonstrated that performance evaluation cannot rely solely on written reports. Direct engagement with personnel and observation of conditions in the field are essential to understanding the realities faced by both police officers and members of the public.
Following the inspection, the visit continued with an internal meeting involving the entire Tangerang City Police Sector team.
The meeting covered the latest security and public order situation, crime patterns, preventive measures, priority cases, as well as ongoing and planned police programs within the jurisdiction of Tangerang City Police Sector.
The information presented became an important basis for the Deputy Chief of Police to provide practical and targeted directions in accordance with conditions on the ground.
The Police Sector: The First Face of Public Service .In his firm yet warm address, AKBP Fiki N. Ardiansyah emphasized the strategic role of the Police Sector as the frontline and first face of the police institution in the eyes of the community.
«“The Police Sector is the closest point of contact between the community and the police. This is where citizens come when they need protection, report an incident, seek assistance, or simply need clear information. The experience people receive at the Police Sector will shape their perception of the entire police institution. Therefore, no aspect of public service is too small to receive our attention.”»
He stressed that every interaction between police personnel and members of the public represents an opportunity to strengthen—or undermine—public trust.
Personnel assigned to public service are therefore expected not only to understand procedures and regulations, but also to demonstrate social sensitivity, professionalism, humanity, and sincerity in serving the community.
Three Strategic Pillars of Police Service
The working visit highlighted three fundamental pillars that will serve as strategic guidance for the Tangerang City Police Sector in carrying out its duties.
1. Excellent Public Service: More Than a Slogan
The first and most fundamental pillar is excellent public service.
AKBP Fiki emphasized that public services must be delivered in a friendly, respectful, fair, transparent, and professional manner.
There must be no discrimination based on a person’s social or economic background or status. Every citizen who comes to the Police Sector has the right to receive equal and proper treatment in accordance with applicable regulations.
«“Every report must be recorded accurately. Every complaint must be heard patiently. Every piece of information that citizens are entitled to receive must be delivered clearly and honestly. Excellent service must not merely appear on a notice board or be repeated in speeches. It must be reflected in every greeting, every response, and every action we take.”»
2. Synergy: Public Security Is a Shared Responsibility
The second pillar is comprehensive synergy and collaboration.
AKBP Fiki reminded personnel that increasingly complex security and public order challenges cannot be addressed by the police alone.
Strong cooperation is required among police units, local government institutions, judicial authorities, community leaders, religious leaders, community organizations, traditional leaders, and neighborhood representatives.
«“Security is a shared responsibility. The stronger our cooperation with every element of society, the faster we can detect potential security disturbances, resolve conflicts, and strengthen the sense of safety felt by the community. Synergy must not be an occasional activity. It must become a mindset and a working culture that we continuously strengthen every day.”»
3. Discipline and Integrity: Non-Negotiable Principles
The third pillar is discipline and integrity.
AKBP Fiki reminded all personnel that public trust is one of the most valuable assets of the police institution and must be protected through responsible conduct.
Any abuse of authority, violation of regulations, or breach of professional ethics can damage public confidence and the credibility of the institution.
«“Integrity is non-negotiable in our profession. Every action we take and every decision we make must be accountable legally, professionally, institutionally, and before our conscience and the community. We must never become a source of distrust or injustice for the people we are entrusted to protect. Discipline is our shield, while integrity is our soul.”»
Open Communication as a Bridge of Trust
The presence of the Public Relations Section of Metro Tangerang City Police during the visit also highlighted the importance of direct communication between leadership and frontline personnel.
Operational challenges, difficulties in the field, and personnel aspirations may not always emerge through formal reports. Direct dialogue provides an opportunity for leadership to understand these issues more comprehensively.
Public Relations also plays an important role as a bridge between leadership policies and personnel in the field, while simultaneously conveying real conditions from the community and operational environment to decision-makers.
Open and constructive communication is expected to strengthen internal solidarity while contributing to greater public confidence in the police institution.
Commitment to Turning Directives into Action
The Chief of Tangerang City Police Sector expressed appreciation for the Deputy Chief’s first working visit.
According to the Police Sector leadership, the direct presence of senior leadership provides additional motivation and encouragement for personnel carrying out their duties at the community level.
«“This visit is more than an official duty. It gives us renewed motivation. All directions delivered by the Deputy Chief will be translated into concrete steps and work programs that can be implemented by our personnel. We are committed to improving public services, strengthening cooperation with all stakeholders, and maintaining discipline and integrity as an inseparable part of our responsibilities.”»
Being Present, Serving, and Building Public Trust
The working visit concluded with a joint photograph symbolizing solidarity, unity of purpose, and the strengthening of teamwork within the Tangerang City Police Sector.
More importantly, the visit represents the beginning of an ongoing effort to strengthen police performance—from the Metro Police headquarters to the Police Sector level, and from leadership to personnel working directly with the public.
Ultimately, the success of a police institution should not be measured merely by the number of activities conducted or reports completed. Its true measure is whether people genuinely experience the police as a protector, guardian, and public servant they can trust.
Through humane service, rapid responses, strong cooperation, professional discipline, and unwavering integrity, the police institution is expected to remain not merely an authority, but a genuine partner for the community in creating a safer and more prosperous society.
